Sapphire crystal
Extremely hard, scratch-resistant glass made from synthetic sapphire that is used for clocks and watches.

Stripe finish
Fine, striped finish used for decorating the movement. It is added to the wheel bridge of the balance cock.

Synchronization
Process in which the time displayed on a radio-controlled watch is adjusted to match the time transmitted by the time-signal transmitter. In Junghans clocks and watches, automatic synchronization takes place daily at 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Manual synchronization can also be triggered at any time.

Transmitter call button
Option for manually triggering synchronization of the clock or watch with the time-signal transmitter.

Tachymeter
A device for measuring speed, e. g. average speed over a specified distance.

2nd time
Option to have a second time (e. g. that of another time zone) displayed in addition to local time.

Time zone setting
When entering a different time zone, radio-controlled clocks and watches can be set to receive local time. In radio-controlled clocks and watches with a 2nd time function, this setting can be the additional time displayed. The date can also be adjusted to local time.
